We had the smash burger and Dutch baby- absolutely amazing! Fantastic food, great service, and lovely atmosphere. Highly highly recommend and if we lived close we’d be regulars. It’s a must try for breakfast if you’re in the area!

Superb food overall! Definitely try the egg cochon, and the Dutch baby is a must. A bit pricey, but the quality makes it worth considering.

I adore French food and I’ve been to France several times, so for my birthday in Jackson, this was the place I wanted to try. We were not disappointed. In fact, it was the best meal I’ve had in quite a long time. The almandine redfish was incredible and the carpaccio made me want to cry. I’ll be back!

If you're in Jackson and want a true dining experience, Elvie's has to be on your list! While there's no shortage of great tasting food in Jackson, almost all of it leans toward the casual. Elvie's, meanwhile, is one of the few places that embraces classic culinary style, preparation and presentation. But here's the kicker: all the flavor and history that comes with classic Southern cooking - fried fish, grits, cornbread, collard greens, etc. - has passed through the filter of classic, high cuisine. It's the best of both worlds! The atmosphere is small and intimate. Even though you have plenty of space and aren't right on top of other diners, there's still a communal feeling. The lighting and decor amplifies the intimacy. The drink menu is robust and there's something for everyone. Classic mixed drinks, wine by the glass or botte, and beers are all on offer. Sticking with the classics - a nice vino or martini - will complement anything on the menu. The menu itself introduced new items regularly based on what's seasonal, but there are constant staples as well. Starting off with the oysters or chicken liver pate will start you off on your journey exquisitely. For a main, the redfish almodine is hard to beat and the steak frites are a classic. Lately they've had a Venison & Bone Marrow 'pie' that is not to be missed. Finally cruise into the citron souffle for desert. I should also mention that breakfast is, perhaps, their true show card. And there's literally nothing on the breakfast menu that won't make you close your eyes and smile. The grit fritters are life-changing. The classic biscuit and gravy is also beautiful. (But, again, you could - and probably should - try everything on the breakfast menu.) Parking is easy. There's a lot behind the restaurant, but street parking is easy and plentiful. The staff is attentive, but not fussy. They're knowledgeable regarding the menu and happy to answer any questions you have. Oh ... and did I mention this place is a

Well Damn, this place is all the hype and then delivered on said hype. The service before the food was top notch. Killer wine and beverage list, also quite reasonable $. Now for the food. Five spice Duck was duckin delicious. One of the best steak tartare I have had in the states, plus the bread it's served with was unbelievable. Oysters were good but those crack crackers were just that..crack. Overall, the hype totally worth it, go drop loot, be happy.

This place is worth the detour off the highway! This quaint little café has a great atmosphere for relaxing during your travels, plus delicious food. I ordered the breakfast smash burger and was not disappointed. Everyone was very friendly, and the food came out fairly quickly. I can honestly say that the next time I’m traveling through Mississippi, I’ll definitely be back!

An evening draped in warmth, laughter, and fine conversation — a night where every course told its own story. We began with a play of contrasts and texture: hand-cut beef tartare elevated by chive and dill, crowned with a whisper of smoked salt and served alongside golden-grilled bread. Beside it, Oysters Elvaretta — kissed with bacon, Parmesan, and tender artichoke — offering a briny depth softened by a crisp French baguette. The main courses arrived in a duet of indulgence. First, “Pork Two Ways” — confit pork belly yielding beneath its crackling skin, paired with crisp rillettes, confit Alabama apples, silky miso butternut squash, and bright pickled mustard seeds that illuminated each bite. Then, Mississippi braised beef cheek, rich and unctuous, glazed in Hoover sauce and served with local carrots, a French onion soubise, and a touch of horseradish and toasted benne seeds — a dish that spoke of patience, craft, and the quiet power of Southern terroir. Dessert brought a final note of comfort and grace. A salted caramel and chocolate brownie — molten within — paired with vanilla ice cream, benne seed crumble, and sea salt. Beside it, an espresso layered pudding with mascarpone, crisp wafers, and praline dulce de leche, each spoonful an embrace of brightness and depth. We lingered over a chilled glass of non-alcoholic Sauvignon Blanc, letting the evening stretch gently into memory — a testament to shared company, exceptional ingredients, and the simple elegance of a meal prepared with devotion.
